A Celebration of SOCCER & CRAFT BEER
Philadelphia and soccer go back a long way. Beer and Philly go back even longer. In fact, Philadelphia is arguably the Soccer & Beer capital of the USA.
So, we thought it was time to celebrate that history and bring those worlds together. On Friday January 16th, we will be hosting the first-ever Soccer & Beer Fiesta from 5:30-8:30PM - at a great craft beer venue just 1/2 block away from the convention center.
Join a soccer-friendly crowd for a few hours of food, craft beer, classic soccer and general camaraderie as we celebrate the world's most popular game AND the world's most popular adult beverage at BAR-LY on 11th Street in Chinatown.
Local breweries including Yards, Philly Brewing and Lancaster will join soccer-loving breweries like Great Lakes and Rogue. Guests will enjoy 20 different fresh craft beers and try a wide variety of beer styles. See below for the beer list so far. All guests will get a 7 ounce tasting glass and freedom to sample and enjoy any and all of the beers. Brewery reps will be on-site to talk about their products.
BAR-LY will provide an intercontinental buffet featuring great samples of their award-winning menu, with a mixture of Asian, Italian and American fare. The menu is below.
And with classic soccer playing on 20 TVs and a bit of Soccer Quizzo (with great prizes), this is a party sure to please both the soccer freak and the beer geek.
The Union, the Cosmos and the Red Bulls will all be involved so we will have some spirited tri-state rivalry and show some classic Cosmos video as well as Union highlights.
All guests will get a great gift bag with cool stuff from our sponsors AND a chance to win some awesome grand prizes, including Union and Red Bull tickets, vintage Pele Cosmos jerseys, match balls and more. And even more prizes will be awarded to the winners of our Soccer Quizzo.
The space is limited so only 300 tickets are available. For $36 you get all the food (unlimited buffet) and all the beer (unlimited 6 oz pours) PLUS a great gift bag with valuable swag and offers from our friends and sponsors AND a chance to win the grand prizes. Tickets at the door will be $40 IF they are available...but this event will likely sell out so buy your tickets now.
